About

Making Sports Accessible for Everyone

The main aim of the project is to use sport as a tool for social inclusion, health improvement, and equal participation. Key objectives include increasing sport participation of people with disabilities, training sport professionals and volunteers in adaptive sport coaching, improving accessibility of sport infrastructure, and creating long-term inclusive sport networks and cooperation structures. The project also aims to support behaviour change by encouraging long-term engagement in physical activity and promoting accessible sport as a standard practice, not an exception.

Vision

The project’s vision is a future where inclusive sport is fully integrated into local, national, and European sport systems. It aims to create a sustainable model where sport venues, events, coaching methods, and policies are designed to be accessible for everyone. By working with sport organisations, municipalities, and policy stakeholders, the project contributes to long-term structural change and promotes inclusive sport culture across Europe.

The report looks at policies, accessibility challenges, transport, costs, equipment, and coaching needs, helping partners design activities based on real evidence.

Educational Programme for Inclusive Sport

The STRIDE & GLIDE Educational Programme translates the project’s research findings into practical training materials for coaches, volunteers, teachers, and sport professionals. It includes a structured training pathway with modules on inclusive sport, adaptive methodologies, communication, psychological support, and practical adaptation of running, hiking, and swimming activities.
