Latest Highlights from the Stride & Glide Project
Training of Trainers Organised in Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Federal Association for Sport and Recreation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, coordinator of the Stride & Glide project, recently organised the first Training of Trainers activities in Sarajevo and Zenica.
The two training sessions brought together more than 50 participants, including trainers, professors, students, sport professionals, and volunteers working with persons with disabilities. The programme focused on inclusive sport, adaptive physical activities, and the use of specialised equipment to reduce social and physical barriers.
The trainings were organised with the involvement of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, the University of Sarajevo, and the University of Zenica, supporting the development of a local network ready to implement accessible grassroots sport activities for all abilities.

Stride & Glide Represented at EPYG Legacy Initiative Conference
The EPYG Legacy Initiative Conference took place from 3 to 5 June 2026, focusing on research, policies, and practices that support the long-term development of Para sport in Europe.
The conference addressed sustainability, institutional cooperation, and the integration of Para sport into national strategies, funding mechanisms, and development plans — topics closely connected to the objectives of Stride & Glide.
Univ. Prof. Marko Begović joined a session with EPC President Raymond Bonel and NPC Ireland representative Cliona Horan, discussing institutional alignment and policy coherence across European countries.
First Stride & Glide Training Held in Vienna
The first Stride & Glide training in Austria took place in Vienna in June, bringing together participants with different backgrounds and experiences in inclusive sport, education, and community work.
The training was joined by people who work with persons with disabilities, students, sport event organisers, and professionals working with children and young people of different ages. The session focused on sharing practical approaches to making sport activities more accessible, inclusive, and welcoming for all participants. The training was organised in cooperation with the local organisation Kids in Motion.

Stride & Glide Trainings Held in Montenegro
In May, REGSPO organised two Stride & Glide training sessions in Montenegro — first in Nikšić at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, and later in Podgorica at the Gymnasium Sport Center.
The trainings brought together more than 50 participants, including sport professionals, coaches, PE teachers, students, youth, athletes, and journalists from different regions of Montenegro. The sessions focused on raising awareness and sharing practical knowledge on how to adapt sport activities for people with disabilities.
Stride & Glide Project Officially Kicks Off in Sarajevo
At the beginning of February 2026, all Stride & Glide project partners came together in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the official kick-off meeting of the project.
The two-day meeting marked the start of the project and gave partners the opportunity to get to know each other, present their organisations, and discuss the main goals, activities, and timeline of Stride & Glide. Partners reviewed the project work plan, communication and dissemination tasks, research activities, upcoming training sessions, and the preparation of local inclusive sport events in each partner country.
The meeting also created space to agree on responsibilities, clarify next steps, and build a shared understanding of how the project will support more accessible and inclusive sport opportunities for people with disabilities.
